I'm talking to someone about buying their SKS and they don't know where it was made.  I thought there would be a sticky on this but I guess not.

Is there a website that lists/shows all the differences between each SKS?  I want to be able to send him a website so he can find out what type of SKS it is.

Dug my Russian SKS out of the safe and was wondering if anyone come shed some light on identifying it and any estimates on its value...might sell it.

I have the original laminated stock, cleaning rod and kit(I think), sling, black bayonet.  It is currently installed and what I believe is a Choate folding stock.

Thanks in advance for any help...

That is a sexy second year production SKS(some were made as early as  1944, but in very limited numbers).  Unrefurbed as well.  I think in original configuration it could be worth around 500 bones to the right person.

The laminated stock places it as a definite refurb, and the clean stamping of arsenal and year the cover, and the newer style take down lever makes it a late '50.  An early '50 would have hand stamping vs. machine die stamping, a release lever with a hole, and all '50's came in a birch stock.

But this one looks like a 'medium' refurb, as it is still in the white and has no BBQ paint.  With the extra stock, and considering the current market, $400 plus is not out of the question to the right buyer for a second year SKS.  It looks like a nice one.

I didn't see mine on that site... wonder why?
anyway, it's a Norinco/K-Sports "triangle 26?" no bayo lug, standard box mag and side rail mount... I even have the original box etc..
I got it at a hamfest years ago for 70 bucks.
