Hi all,

A search didn't reveal this topic in the past 30 days, although I'm sure it has probably come up before...

My Norinco SKS paratrooper has a canted front sight base that has been tack-welded to the barrel.  To line up the sight I have to adjust the sight as far to the right as possible, which moves the horizontal cylinder out of the left side hole in the FSB.  I tried filing down the weld, but the weld penetrates underneath the FSB and is inaccessible by file.  I removed the pin and beat on the FSB a bit with a mallet, but it won't budge.

Any thoughts on how to get the FSB loose without cutting it off?

Perhaps a small chisel might break the weld.
