I just picked up a Yugo 59/66 and was given a pretty nice scope for Christmas.  Is it worth it, or should I just find another gun to put the scope on?

Toss up.  I have a 4x scope on mine and like it.  I picked up a PU scope mount from a member here and will be changing the dustcover mount for this one to make an ersatz yugo sniper.  This was a field expedient that they used in the balkans war.  Yes the groups are smaller, but still within the limitations of the ammo.

Strictly my opinion-

I'd leave it be-

Sks are like a pair of Croc's(plastic sandals)

There's not much you can do to them, that will improve them.

They are nice & dependable but,

they are not sniper rifles.

I'd save the scope for a precision rifle- ar, bolt action, ect....

This is just my opinion

Nope no way to improve an SKS much just a waste of time.  Two 5 shot groups out of mine,  It's all about your ammo and sight adjustments.  These groups were shot with stock rifles.

Chinese Dang I flinched on that one
