Hi, my name is Johny and this is my first post on the forum.
I am very interested in getting my hands on a krink, but don't know much about the gun, so please be patient with me and my questions.  Any help would be appreciated.

First, I would like to know the legality of these guns....from what I understand, they have to be a total of 16 inches, that is the reason for the fake can.  What I would like to know is if there is any way to have the shorty version with no end can.  Do you need a preban or original receiver for this build?  Remember, I am in NY and we still have strict laws with these guns.  I was looking at the kits from K Var and thinking of trying to locate a receiver...wondering if I found a pre ban receiver and built the shorty version if it would still be legal.....I suppose if I built it on a new Ohio Ordinance receiver that it would be illegal....am I correct?  Once again, sorry for the stupid questions as I am new to this topic.

Thanks in advance, Johny

The fake can is to get you to the 16" mark. In some states you can own a rife with a barrel shorter than 16" if you pay a 200.00 tax and are aproved by the ATF. You can use a new reciever to build one in my state WI I'm not sure about NY

BigJohnny,

Hate to say it, but from what I found you are screwed by living in NY for the short barreled version.  Looks as if NY says no to SBRs - State NFA Laws.  Your only option would be to have the fake suppressor put on the end.  If you want the stock to fold you would need a pre-ban donor receiver since NY still has its own assault weapons ban.

Spooky
