| What stamped pre-ban receiver (obviously you will need to buy the whole gun)is considered the "most" desirable for building up a Krink in either 5.45 or 7.62 complete with SBR and folding stock? |

The best for a 5.45mm Krinkov build is a .223 receiver. The only viable model in this caliber and pre-ban is the Norinco 84s. $650-1000 If building a 7.62 Krinkov, then any pre-ban Chinese rifle will do just fine. $650-850 However, if you are into exact replicas and every detail is important, there are only 2 choices for either caliber build: a Hungarian(Kassner import) or Egyptian(Steyr import) pre-ban. $900-1400 The reason for the last 2 expensive models boils down to one small detail that the Chinese receivers will be incorrect for...the rivet pattern for the front trunnion. Chinese front trunnion rivets are at a 45 degree angle to each other. European receivers have side-by-side rivets. And since the Krink is made in Euro countries, those will be the most accurate looking options, but much more costly. Of course if you are willing to pay, your gunsmith may be able to re-locate the Chinese rivets to a Euro pattern. |

fistpoint; Thanks for the reply. I can get a Polytech .223 pre-ban at a pretty reasonable price and I just may. To me, the real joy of the Krinks is lost if I have to use a non-folding stock or if it is not an SBR. Rock n roll would be nice, too, but I can live without it. These more realistic Krinks are very nice little guns and I like 'em a lot in both calibers. |
