I see these kits for $599.  I have always wanted a Krink so here are the questions.

I know I can't build on of these as they are not demilled kits.  Who should I use and how much will it cost?

I would like to have a sidefolder instead of an underfolder.  A triangle stock or full stock would be the best.  How do I accomplish this?

I would like to have this built up and then shoot it while waiting on my SBR stamp.  Is there a way to build it with an extension that once the paperwork is in is relatively easy to remove?  Like grind a spot weld and screw the long one off or something?

Hi,

A virgin build will probably run you closer to $500, depending on the builder. Any reputable builder should be able to handle virgin kits. They take more time to build as well.

To have a sidefolder, all you'd need to do is have it built up on a Nodak Spud Khyber Pass receiver. It is for 7.62x39 and has the sidefolder cutouts in the rear. Some fitting will be required of course.

A muzzle brake can be added to bring the barrel length to 16"+. The blind pin and weld method is probably the best for what you're asking. It does require the FSB to be drilled a little to accept a part of the pin that runs through the extension. Then you weld over the pin and hole. Removal is quick if you have a dremel.

Total cost for what you're looking to have done is around $2200, including tax stamp for eventual SBR.

Kit: $600 + ship
Receiver: $120 + fees
Barrel extension: $100
922 R parts: $100
Build cost: $500 + shipping
Sidefolder and hardware: $300 + shipping
SBR paperwork: $200
Engraving: $50?

Who is a good builder for a project like this?

How much does the muzzle extension to get it to 16" cost?

There are folks out there who will headspace your barrel to the trunion and install the barrel parts for you, ready for you to do the final assembly on your receiver. This makes it possible for you to do the work, and save some money.

That would be perfect.  Who is willing to do the headspacing and barrel work?

Im curious as well. I got an M85 kit coming in the mail that I want to build as a pistol. Michigan does not allow SBR.............

I could do the work on the barrel myself, but I never done it, so I would rather pay someone and know that it would be headspaced right...

I could press the rivets myself, its the headspace/gass port that worry me.

I'd be more than happy to press and headspace your barrel to your bolt. When you get it back you'll have to drill and pin the barrel to the trunnion and press it back out yourself. Just pay for the return shipping. If you want the gas port drilled and the whole barrel populated we could discuss it. Just drop me a line if you're interested.

In case you're wondering, I have a couple of builds under my belt.
