What parts are in that gun? Saiga receiver? Bulgy front end? What part is yugo. I have a triangle folder on my 107ur and a poly folder on my 106cr. I like the poly folder better. I keep the triangle folder on the krink mostly for looks, but it is not a bad sock at all especialy for a folding stock.
nice gun by the way James |

I personally go back and forth between which side-folding stock I like best.
What I like about the triangle stock is that its original, it looks better, and its solid as a rock. You could proabably use the stock as a hammer. The one thing I dislike about it is the thin surface area while shouldering. Not a big deal for my 5.45 Krink, but noticeable for my 7.62 Krink. What I like about the poly stock is that its got a larger surface area for shouldering, its faster to open, and that when folded and slung, its more comfortable against the body/waist. What I dislike is the cosmetics (compared to the triangle stock) and the annoying (as you mentioned) stock release button when shouldering. When I got my 107UR chopped and SBR'd, I slapped a triangle stock on her. After 1-2 trips to the range, I decided to go back to the poly stock. For an all black Go-To gun, with vertical grip, red dot site, and sling, I like the poly stock better, as looks are not important. If I ever get another 107UR, I will do it up with wood furniture and go with the traditional triangle stock. But hey.....swapping stocks requires more than popping out a pin...!!! |

The only poly folders I know of with the Izzy logo are the 5.5mm sets. The poly stocks are floating around here and there but the hard part is finding the 5.5mm hinge pin because the trunnion parts are vaporware at this point in time. You could probably have someone mill you a stainless steel pin and have your 4.5mm trunnion holes bored out, then get the stock and see if it latches tight.
Some element of risk exists because there are variations in how the russkies manufacture parts. I had to get my triangle folder fitted for my S12 even though the SVDS folder locked up fine, even now my 5.5mm Izzy poly folder won't lock up properly. I think a good gunsmith who knows folders could get you fixed up pretty well. FWIW I like the triangle better than any other stock and I have them on all my folder's. I think it looks better, shoulders better and my cheekweld is fine with them (though I do think the poly gets you a more natural weld). I also don't like the pushbutton on the poly folder. Z |

I'm working on building custom pads for the side folding stocks. I should have some pictures soon. I could also add some length to the stock with the pad if you wanted? Let me know if you're interested. For the triangle folder or the poly folder? I can build one for the triangle side folder. |

Let me know if you're interested. For the triangle folder or the poly folder? I can build one for the triangle side folder. Wrap it in 550/Paracord. It works and it looks "right" on an AK. ETA: Just leave a gap for the stock latch. A well placed knot does the trick and won't shift around. |
| I don't have a poly buttstock and have never used one so I can't compare the two. I do have the triangle folder on my Krink and I love it. Like the above post I wrapped the top and bottom with green 550. I did not wrap the butt-plate, but I don't have any issues with comfort and the 5.45 just doesn't kick enough to need padding, IMO. |

I have a folder on my SLR-105 but can I still play? I also think the triangle is a little lighter, to be honest. I could be wrong (and did throw my cleaning kit in it). It's a little bulkier but it is a bit more comfortable. Although my triangle doesn't give me any comfort issues. I shoot fine with my triangle, even with a Russian Kobra red-dot on it.
I feel there are pro's and con's to each. Although I should finally have my Krinkov within the next week or two. It has a triangle so I might toss the polymer back on my SLR-105 and just leave it. |

I tried the solid polymer folding stock and it just seemed too bulky on my Krink when folded and just didn't look right, so I sold it on the EE.
I think the solid polymer folding stock looks much more at home on an AK100 series rifle like an AK104, on a Krink, it looks a little out of place, the skeleton folders look right for Krinks in my opinion. |
