ok vepr experts. I saw an interesting rifle at the last funshow. the vendor said it was a .223 vepr with an RPK receiver and two mag's constructed with a redish composit material. the asking price was 700 but he would sell for 650. the receiver did say vepr but I did not take anymore info, other than it was a heavier than usual AK. I'm sure he will be at the next show so my question is, does this sound right? the dude seemed a little too bent on selling the rifle so not knowing much about that rifle I passed. I have kicked myself in the ass for holding back in the past but better safe than sorry. so what you say arf...deal or no deal? |

Check to see if the redish mags have raised rear sections in the followers. RobArm sold $6 223/556 followers to adjust the stack angle of 556 in the curved 545 mag. Bbl is a full .8" to gas block, helping mine get 2" on any crap ammo, and 1.5" on nice ammo. Good 2-stage fcg, funny stock does handle very well (great offhand form), takes Harris bipod just fine. Unless the extra 1.5lbs of RPK beef is a deal killer (bought mine from a guy who got fed up with the carry weight) BUY one of the best shooting AKs made. 2 converted mags are $30, mine also takes Bulgy waffles and 556 Beryls. |
well, I did have said rifle in my hands at the last funshow, but the dude got pissed and raised the price 100 bux when I started the price negotiation. I guess I must have offended him. anyway I'll be keeping an eye out for another. Thanks for the info...any other info / advice on the purchase of a vepr would be welcome! |
