Two questions:

What rail systems are available for the VEPR? I am looking for both a top rail for a sight (I know unitek makes one..any others out there) as well as a bottom rail for any other attachments?

Are any M4 stock adapters available for the VEPR? Will an AK one work? What would be involved in installing one?

The ultimak is the only one I know of. On a side note, I was going to mount a red dot sight on my Vepr, but decided to keep it simple. I replaced the rear sight with a Kreb's Adjustable Peep Sight http://www.krebscustom.com/CustomParts.html and replaced the front sight with an XS 24/7 Tritium http://www.xssights.com/newproducts.html This combination works extremely well, and avoids relying on a battery powered sight. Good luck what ever you decide.

BiggerStick47, could you please post more info/pics on your XS front sight?

I have one on my factory M1A SOCOM 16 and I like it a lot.

Thanks

Ok, the ultimak it is. It looks like a quality piece anyway, I am thinking of that with a Kobra sight mounted on it.

Has anyone put a AR style stock on one, Krebs has a AK stock adapter but that wont work right?

veprs have an angle cut rear end instead of a square cut.  No standard AK type furniture will fit.

I thought that one or two of the Drga style stock would fit? No?

I mounted a weaver rail I purchased at walmart for a marlin lever gun on the bottom of my 7.62x39 handgaurd. The holes in the handgard and the holes in the rail matched perfect all I had to do was dig through my extra fastners to see what would work. I also have an AR stock on my .223 K. I got the cut the tang off reciever block from Ace and what they call a pig nose which is an AR stock adapter. In short the reciever block took a little fitting but not a lot and I did not have to cut the tang off. I had to notch the back of my ergo grip that I installed on it and thats it. It looks good. I wish I had pics. The CAR stock is what was on it but I did not like it so I put an A2 stock on ot. I can always put the CAR back on or get a viltor. ACE is where to get the reciever block and adapter.

I wish you did too

Do you think the rear "stock" modification is something most anyone can do?  I don't have a machine shop or anything, but I do have enough mechanical ability to assemble an AR15 from parts.  If I can replace the VEPR rear stock with an AR15 CavArms C1 stock (A1), then there is NO other reason for me not to get one as the stock was my biggest hold-out.

Thanks!

I think the Choate Drag stock will fit, but that's just hearsay.
