Ok so what I am able to gather to modify the Saiga AK to accept hi cap mags you only need to modify the mags? I understand to be legal it has to have the required US parts but you actually only need to modify the mags.....right? And after you modify the mags will they work in say an SAR1? |

a feed ramp must be added if your saiga single stack does not have one already installed. see k-var for the feed ramp and rivet. the mag azinecatch lever must be fitted to lock up on the high capacity magazines. a file will get this gob done. some saiga's accept high capacity magazines in the magazine well as is...others require the opening to be files out just a bit. the usa made parts are necessary if you convert your high capacity saiga to pistol grip configuration. |

don't modify the mag. the only way to get the mag modified to work is to build up the notch in the front of the mag to serve as a feed ramp. with this done you will not be able to fit the modified mag into a regular AK, and you will be a felon because you have manufactured a new postban high capacity magazine... at least until sept 2004, then who cares? :D |
