| I have a Saiga 7.62x39 that I'm working on converting and I've ran into a small problem. I ordered an AK47 gas tube from Cole Distributing and when I went to put it all together, the bolt carrier get stuck in the gas tube. The bolt carrier is getting stuck right where it steps up from the gas piston and is getting stuck in the gas tube right where the ctimping begins. I thought about trying to modify the gas tube but the material is not that thick. Has anyone else ran into an issue like this? I tried doing some searching and the only difference I found between the 47 and 74 gas tube is length. Anyone have an idea of how I can fix this issue. Thnks in advance. |

make sure you have the gas tube fully seated in the rear site block. IIRC all pistons should have pretty much the same diameter so I don't think it's the tube itself. Might be helpful to have a pic of the tube. Can you get the piston to slide through when you have the tube off the gun and piston in hand? Or does it still bind? If it binds even with both parts out I'd be thinking the tube was bent or smooshed... |
