With the weapon in the normal firing position and looking down on the front sight, to RAISE the sight-post do I turn the adjustment tool clockwise or counter-clockwise? Thanks

To raise the front sight post, you turn it counter clockwise. This will lower the point of impact.

You could always download the military zero target. It has the instructions on the target.
