Anyone one here order anything from the last Izhmash shipment arrival? I got a couple of items and they seem to have been in NY for the last week.
Has anyone received their orders yet if they did order? |
|
I haven't received mine yet but if they're sitting in NY that sounds about right. It can take a while to get out of customs.
Your item arrived in the United States in ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS) at 4:43 PM on February 28, 2010. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later. Z |

This doesn't have anything to do with Rusmilitary but I had a problem with Customs recently
I bought 4 E.German bakelite mags from a guy off the akforum. It took about 3 months for Customs to notify me that they had my shipment. They sent me a letter that basically said I needed to be a "licensed importer" in order for me receive the magazines. Mind you, this was for 4 magazines, not a pallet or a crate of 1000, but for 4 magazines!!!!! I sent them an email asking them to return the shipment to the original sender because I was not a licensed importer and I wasn't going to try and cut through the miles of red tape for 4 magazines. I explained to them if they could send the shipment back I would receive a refund for my order. They sent me an email saying they weren't going to ship them back and that my magazines would become property of the US government and would be auctioned off some time in the future!!!!!!! You can't imagine how pissed I was. Even writing this now is getting my blood boiling. The ATF and Customs literally made me sick to my stomach. There contempt for gun owners was evident in their words. Because of this I refuse to do business with anyone not in the US. Not because I'd rather give my business to an American company but because of the possibility that the government could STEAL my shipment and sell it to someone else. That's exactly what happened here. They STOLE my magazines and auctioned them off to someone else. These aren't the actions of a legitimate and just government but the crimes of a common gangster and thug...... |

Most win and some lose. You just happen to lose. Be thankful all you have to deal with is forfeiture and not a criminal penalty. |

Of course they're going to seize your magazines, if they happen to find them. You have to do the Form 6. You, like a lot of other folks that order such things from overseas, took a chance and rolled the dice. Unfortunately, you lost. But it was a gamble that had known risk. Just bite the bullet and do the form next time, if you want them bad enough. |

I've never ordered more than 2 mags at a time from Rusmilitary, but each time they ship they are broken down and labelled 'airsoft parts'
Mag bodies come in one box and springs/etc in another, haven't had a problem so far. I didn't think it was illegal to order mags in and of themselves...only if the dollar amount was something over $100? Z |
|
Honestly, no, I had no idea it was illegal. The guy that sold them to me gave me the indication that he had done this a thousand times before without a problem. All I know is I simply will not send my money overseas again. I can't afford to roll the dice and hope I get my merchandise. I only lost $80 in the deal fortunetly, it could have been worse.....
I know Rusmilitary sells furniture as well. Could customs intercept those as well? Are there certain items they can and cannot confiscate? Generally, any "gun" item is fair game? |
| You're fortunate. Anything valued at more than $100 needs to be declared on a Form 6. You roll the dice and hope for the best. To the letter of the law, having Customs seize such a parcel is the minimum they can technically affect you with. In essence, they're doing you a favor by just seizing the items and not pursuing the matter to the extent of the law. |

Items arrived today. The metal stock has some weight to it, more then I thought. Did you get what I think you got? http://www.rusmilitary.com/images/saiga12_buttstock.jpg I couldn't get out of work early enough to hit the post office, but I think my stash is there. Can't wait to see it. Z Thats it. A little on the pricey side but seems very well made. Before today always wondered what the longer pin looking thing was toward the back. Now I know Z What are you waiting for from oleg ? In order to get the 'goodies' one needs to take chances |

Does anyone know where in the penal code these are mentioned? |

Does anyone know where in the penal code these are mentioned? I certainly don't agree with those regulations but when enough people circumvent the procedures and get their stuff seized, it draws a great deal of attention by Customs to be more detailed and flag a lot of packages from the same vendors. A few years ago on another forum, an overseas vendor had [at the time] rare magazines for a very reasonable price. In typical lemming fashion, lots of guys ordered lots of magazines at the same time - a few guys rocked the boat even more by putting in very large orders in the hopes of reselling the magazines on that very forum after their hopeful receipt of them (which happened a couple of times). Long story short, the overwhelming orders were processed by the vendor and mailed out. The flood of magazines and AK parts in all the packages from the same place naturally got the attention of Customs and very few of the guys received their orders. Greed and risk got the better of all of them and many lost out. I dislike the regulation but it is the law. Follow it properly and all is well. Skirt it and you run the risk of losing, in addition to ruining it for others and bringing a lot of undue attention to the overseas vendors that will sell to US buyers - a number which seems to get fewer with each passing year. |

I FINALLY scored the 5.5 100 series stock set, and wanted this as well to interchange on my 31 when I get it converted.

JSPAG138 would you mind telling me who the seller was? No problem, I'lll send you a PM......I'll make it clear, it wasnt his fault. Ultimately, I bought the mags so it is technically my fault. He was very cool about it, he said if he received them back from customs he would refund me but I don't think that will ever come to pass |

Did you replace the fixed stock trunnion with a sidefolding one yourself??? I haven't seen any of those conversions yet, though I imagine plenty of people have done them..... |

Quoted: It looks burly on an S12, I have another on the way from a private seller that's destined for my SGL31-44 http://zenphotos.net/file/Online/SVD/Saiga12/S12Folder_18.5.JPG The SVDS folder is by far my favorite stock, you get everything that a triangle + SVD cheekpad gets you plus you can easily rotate the pad out of the way for irons. Plus it's wicked cool Z I can attest to the "wicked cool" factor having handled this shotty myself. On a rifle, I think it will be even better. |

| I ran through the same thing recently when I ordered from them. It was a pistol grip and a handguard set. They sat in US Customs in NY for over a week. I was beginning to get pissed. Didn't realize this was par for the course until now. While the one posters story makes me angry I'm glad now I know that this isn't always completely legal. I had no idea. |
