Im looking to replace my saiga mag catch with a surplus one. Anyone do this on a x39 and use a specific one IE Bulgaria east german etc? Just dont want to find out it mounts too low or something due to the location of the saigas mag catch pin hole.
Are the mag catch pin hole diameters the same on the saiga and all the surplus variants (one standard pin size)? |

I replaced the whole trigger guard on both my builds. If you can find a bulgy complete mag trigger guard, I would use that. That way you don't have to worry about fussing with that spring for the next 5 hours to get it back in. Ask me how I know....not fun. If you buy a complete one, it's all together. You will have to remove the rivets and then use new rivets, but it's not that hard. I did a decent job using a hammer and a large punch on my 1st build. Of course, you can also just get a small file and file the mag catch until a standard mag will fit. That was the method I used until I replaced the trigger guard. |
