centerfire has this complete semi auto 7.62 RPK clone for sale, and has for some time. I haven't heard one word about it, but it seems like a reasonable deal to me at 500 dollars new. I would prefer somewhere around 450 but I bypass the FFL transfer fee anyway since I'm local. I expect the same bargain quality from a WASR-10, meaning crude furniture and some guns having canted sights. Anybody encounter this rifle, or own one? Just curious to know if its worth a darn to put a RPK clone in my family. also, I have done some slight searching for regular AKM style furniture before, but have never come across a club type stock for a RPK. I assume the upper and lower handguards would be the same as any common style AK. Next time I'm at CTS I might ask to see one, but I hate making them pull things I'm not going to buy. |
The weapon your are referring to is the AK-47 AES10. It is NOT an RPK clone. It is basically a WASR 10 with a longer barrel, cheap bipod, and some knock off RPK like furniture. A real RPK clone would have an RPK trunion, which is much heavier than a WASR trunion; it would also have a much heavier duty bipod that mounts closer to the front of the barrel. This rifle is only a worked over WASR 10. If you like it buy it but don’t think it’s an RPK clone because it’s fare from it. |

I don't want a knockoff, no. I was going to pickup a yugo RPK kit before they informed me it was for a milled receiver. Dont' think it said it in the catalog,(where a stamped yugo RPK was pictured) but, whatever. Thanks for the info. edit: by chance saw a AES-10 at a gunstore and picked it up. It definately did not have a heavier barrel. Its a shame cause I love that club stock. |
Interordnance offers the RPK stock set: RPK Stock Set. Thanks. Harlan |
