I have heard that some of the Wasr10s have crooked side mounts straight from the factory.  If this is true, how do I go about fixing this???

Send it back.

I've yet to see one w/ a crooked side mount, doesn't mean they don't exist though.
Also your Kobra Red Dot is almost infinately adjustable, I would bet that as long as it mounted you wouldn't notice it affecting anything.
