How does one keep the cleaning rod on a SAR 3 from sliding around under re-coil. My SAR 3 does not have a conventional "pocket" for the rod head to set in as on a SAR 1. Do I have a weird FSB or what? Anyone have any pics of what their SAR 3 FSB/cleaning rod stop or pocket looks like. I think a SAR looks like crap with cleaning rod cuts/loops and no rod. Any help or opinions appreciated. Jeff

The SAR-3 and SAR-2 rifles are based off the Romy AK-74 variant and rely on a Muzzle attachment for a rod stop. Pictured is the real deal and my SAR-2 with a 24MM brake on a 1/2"x28 threaded barrel end and adapter. So basically you screwed unless you jerry rig something.

Hootbro, thanks for the great pics. Mine is also threaded 1/2 x 28 and is wearing a AK74 style brake from Global Trades. Problem is, my rod wants to slide up on the slight out-ward taper of brake, not stop at the brake's joint where it is flat between the sight base and the brake. Should I put "a little curve" to the rod to keep from moving around?

I'd have to dis-assemble mine now to refresh my memory; but (if memory serves) I took off the top and bottom handguard and with the cleaning rod still inserted in the lower hand guard, I put something on it or around it to prevent it from slipping back out.   Seems it was a metal ring of some kind that fit tightly on the cleaning rod.   Of course, that renders the cleaning rod un-usable without disassembly, but I didn' care.   I don't use it anyway.
