Great site you all have here! I am new to the AK family and just bought a Romanian WASR-10 with the polymer folding stock. I have taken the gun out, shot it and well, love it. The only problem I have experienced is that two of the mags that I purchased just don't go into the mag well. Is there anything that I can do to fix this? Thanks for the help. Lima |

I have noticed that sometimes with the wasr it is just the mags are too wide. There is apparently alot of variences in ak mags. I have some that actually won't go in to the well and some that are just a hair loose. For the ones that are just too wide i grab them by the top and squeeze the hell out of them with the palms of my hands. do this with them fully loaded so you don't squeeze them flat. i do this till they fit which usually only takes one or two tries. Some wasr are tighter than other and with most magazines mine is tighter than dimpled wells. If it is hitting at the backof the well where the triger gaurd connects to the reciever I have used a chain saw blade file and just carefully filed the little bumps down by hand. That's what I had to do Shawn. Those little bumps were interferring with the clearance of the back of the mag and not allowing it to seat. The other day those same mags were acting up a little (hard to put in) so I think I either need to file a little more, or take a look at the mags. Lima |
