What U.S. made trigger would I get for a SAR 1. I been looking on Black Jack Buffers, Global Trades, and Tapco but they don't have any specific info for what rifles there used on. The Century trigger I have was buffed and has no trigger slap but I would like to get a new trigger group in case the Century trigger takes a dump on me. I see the G2 triggers are popular but I dont know what one I need for a SAR 1.

Get a G2 single hook for the SAR-1.

Is the Red Star trigger worth getting over the Tapco G2?

The Red Star is a very nice FCG.  Is it worth 2 times the cost of a G2?  That's a hard one for me to answer.  The big advantage to the Red Star is that it's adjustable which is something that some people like.  The G2 is a great FCG for a non-adjustable type.  Personally, if it were me and I had to buy a FCG, I guess I would go with G2 FCG and use the extra money for mags.  I have one Red Star and it's very nice but I'd still go with a G2.  This is just my opinion though and I'm sure others might disagree with me.

Thanks! I just wanted to know if there was a real big difference between the two quality wise, I haven't heard great things about some of Tapco's products (furniture).

I don't think you'll regret going with a G2.  That's the only Tapco product I've ever purchased.  They weren't the originator of the G2, it was some smaller company that sold their rights to Tapco awhile back.

Dam Joe, all this money in a rifle you never shoot. A crappy trigger can pretty much ruin a rifle especially trigger slap, but thats fixed now. The only weapon you have put any practice in is your Glock. And nothing has a trigger like a Glock. Shoot some different weapons and get a feel for what kind of trigger you like best.

Im not sure if the G2 is 2 stage or a single stage trigger it doesnt say. Though I believe its a 2 stage. The Red Star is fully adjustable but its $35 vs. $75 on Black Jack website. You should just hold off a bit until you  get a feel for the rifle. The trigger you have aint gonna crap out on you any time soon if at all. If your itchin to spend money, spend it on ammo and maybe some more mags and shoot the dam rifle.h.gif
