I picked up a Romanian side folder at this weekends gun show and after a trip to Lowes I have it mounted on my SAR-1. I was just wondering what the rubber at the top of the butt is for. My two guesses are harmonic dampner, or to keep the butt from contacting the receiver. The latter seems to be discounted at least in my case because the stock doesn't contact the receiver. I love this stock it doesn't seem to have the slop I see in the cheap plastic aftermarket folders, and unlike the Hungarian folder provides a cheek weld. For 32 bucks I think it's pretty hard to beat. Alan |
