Hello G2 trigger. I just finished instaling my G2 trigger. It finally came off of backorder. No more trigger slap for me. It was a pretty easy job thanks to linx310 page being that it didnt come with any instructions. Now if my threading kit and slant brake would finnally arrive I can finish fixing up my SAR-1. The trigger feels pretty good when dry fired compared to the old one. Cant wait to actually fire the freakin thing.

I got a fairly nice two-stage out of my Century trigger. Good enough I haven't spent the money for anything else.

And don't ask me how I did it. I don't know. I just trimmed the tail off the whatever piece and stoned the heck out of the contact surfaces. Although I may spend some time this winter with the stones again.

Push it to the limits!!! Maybe I'll learn something. Like when to stop when I'm ahead.

I just installed my Tapco FCG and wow is it nice, the trigger is about twice as wide  as the century and has a nice clean trigger pull!

How hard was it to swap the trigger mech? I have seen the linx310 instructions.

I am no gunsmith.

Sure would like to loose the slap.

not hard at all, just make sure to get that retaining wire out first and then just punch out the axis pins and it will come right out.  Just make sure to keep an eye on the disconnector spring.

Longhorn: It was quite easy with his instructions. It took me about 20 minutes. Could probably do one in about half the time now. The shepard hook sucks but not too bad. There is an alternate way to reininstall it that is not as hard as the way it came out. Anybody with basic tools and half of their braincells could do it. The g2 kit came with a sleeve to hold the trigger and disconector toghether until the pin is slid through so you dont lose that little spring.

+1 G2, about 20-25mins wrestling with the shepherds hook. Otherwise, it was pie.  No fitting required. I'm rebuilding a bunghole, singlestack WASR-10.  It had the original rommie FCG which wasn't too bad really.  Gritty, but around 5lbs. and no slap.  The G2 is a vast improvement though.

New guy to the AK (Dark Side) forum along with my WASR10.

I just completed my replacement of that piece-of-shit trigger system by Century Arms. I can't believe that are laws allow such garbage. Anyhow, I installed the Red Star Arms trigger system and all I can say is WOW.

I must acknowledge and give a BIG to Linx310 for his site which was absolutely a no brainer (especially for someone that has never handled an AK until now.)

I'll post pic of WASR10 after I do some minor tweekin'

Not only allowed.. Required!  They're especially bad when you consider that the Romanians, never ones to stress over such things as final finish, made a better trigger group than whatever drunk orangutans fashioned the CAI trash.

Why do you guys replace the FCG? just modify the Century one. Compare the C with the G2 and you will not see much difference except for the extra metal. Just  use the G2 as a pattern and grind/remove the difference then heat treat the hook on the hammer and you are good to go. Just try it ,you got nothing to lose with the Century set just sitting around. This is only my opinion but I think  the G2 and C are made by the same company, the G2 just does a few more machining steps.

I personally like the feel of the actuall G2 trigger more.

No, century makes the C FCG and tacpo makes the G2

i don't think Tapco or C actually make it themselves. They most likely have them made  by an outside vendor. What I am saying it that they may get  them from the same outside vendor.

No Tapco does really make them, Tapco bought the right to produce the G2 trigger group.

Please don't take any offense repub but  having the right to produce them does not mean they actually make them in house.  Very common in many industies to  use outside vendors to  make parts. If I am mistaken i sincerly apoligize.

None taken,  I am basing this off this fact that Tapco produces many of their products in house and so does Century Arms.  I do understand your thinking on the issue as many companies do contract out work.

Just installed my G2 from tapco, Man what a difference! I had worked the century to a pretty decent two stage but had to worry some about hardness, I'll keep it and refine it some then reharden.
G2 single hook is a clean single stagevery slight takeup, little creep crisp break. Oh Yeah! No polishing just a little FP10. 2004 Wasr 10 drop in, no reciever relief needed.

What's the difference between single and double hook?

single only has one arm to hold the hammer back, double has two.

Benefits of have 2 over 1?

Soviet, If you have a SAR-1 you need a single hook.

Having a WASR-10, I'd want a double?

nope still a single, if you look at the bottom of your reciever you will see only 1 notch cut out for the single hook arm.
12/26/2004 11:43:38 AM EDT
[#27]
But you can cut another slot for the double hook if you want.  I have both single and double hook and I don't see any difference between the 2.

I to put a g2 double hook in wy wasr 10 with a little work to make another slot no big deal .the century trigger is crap . the g2 has 1/2 the trigger pull and bumps like crazy. the century trigger I could not get to bump.best $40 I spent on my ak.

Just installed one of the Tapco G2 triggers in my Wasr-10, and it really kicks ass.   The trigger pull is clean, crisp, and light.  I highly recommend this trigger.
