I have found a Romanias AK, wsar-1 for $259. I comes with a single stack 10 round clip. Can these be converted to hold the 30 round clips? I guess the most important question is, is it legal to do so??? Thanks.. fullclip

They can be converted, if you have a little metalworking knowledge; as for the legality, I think so, but am not sure. Best bet is to get one that accepts 30 rounders so you don't have to worry about it. Get a copy of Shotgun News and check out the ads. BTW, its WASR, not WSAR. HTH.

SAR-1's can be had for $30-40 more-($289-299.00) go for the SAR and don't worry about the metal shop class!

They're ready to rock right out of the box, and usually come with at least 1 pre-ban Hi-cap...

the wasr can legally be converted to accept hi-cap mags.

however, the work involved, plus the cost of adding the required 5 usa made parts, makes the sar-1 the way to go. unless you just want a nifty project to tackle, go with the sar series.
