You'll need a receiver block to bolt the hinge to See ACE, and you'll have to loose the rear tang. It's an easy DIY. Most rear stocks fit so tight that if you change your mind and want to go back to fixed stock, you can most likely get away w/o having to weld the tang back on and only use the hidden screw under the recoil spring assmbly to put it back on. Save your tang just in case.

What the block looks like: http://riflestocks.com/store/product61.html
Video for a Saiga done by Carolina Shooters Supply -- they sell some parts too: CNC Warrior sells a folder that doesn't require the tang to be cut. Nice peice of kit. |

That's a good price/reputable vendor? |

Ace pretty much invented the thing, but you can get copies cheaper. Check out the sight of the vender from the You- Tube vid. Good people and good prices with alternatives. I don't quite understand that. Got. Link to the vid? Not sure about what video he means, but probably referencing the Stormwerkz hinge, which is a fairly close copy of the ACE mechanism. Stormwerkz used to be the only one that locked closed, but ACE now has one that does that as well, including a button release. |

Anybody? |

Yes,
It will look like what Scotter260 posted though you'll have to add a swivel to it. After you cut off the tang you use the single remaining buttstock mounting screw under the receiver cover. You will need to get the correct machine screw from ACE if it doesn't come with it. You will also have to remove your pistol grip and nut to install this. Your pistol grip nut goes through the square hole on the bottom front of the adapter and you re-attach your grip. This helps lock the adapter down and is more than strong enough. East German and Polish wire side folders use the same principle, though they don't require cutting the tang. The hardest part (emotionally) is cutting your tang off. File it flush with the receiver and de-burr the inside before you install the adapter. Wpns Man |

Swivel is optional,
The tang is rather substantial to cut off with the Dremel cut off disk. I would use a hack saw as it will make quick work of it and you can have one straight cut. True it up flush with the end of the receiver and de-burr it with a flat file and you should be good to go. Wpns Man |

I take it it is too late to suggest the simple, no smithing required Romy sidefolder? Not as cool as the folder to the left, but cheap, reversible, strong, and works with the flick of a lever and a rocking of the gun. I have not pulled the trigger yet but I was pretty set on that setup. I can check out the romy sidefolder though. Thanks. |
