I'm looking for an AK to use for 3-gun, and I'm pretty sure I have my criteria down pretty good. Since it's going to be beat on and not used for accuracy, I'm not terribly concerned about fit/finish or exceptional accuracy. What I do want is: Chrome-lined barrel, reliability, capacity to take awesome plum furniture, and a side optics rail. removable muzzle nut/device is strongly preferred as well.

Do any of the WASR models being made now fit that criteria alright?

Pretty sure they meet all of your criteria. I personally haven't seen any of the new ones but I think they all have threaded barrels (muzzle end).

I rescently got a wasr 10/63 and it has everything you mentioned above accept the plum furniture.  Mine came with raw blonde furniture that I have since refinished.  It turned out great, I have been very happy with it so far.

might want to consider the new romy m10, even with the side folding wire stock, its pretty light.  feels like 6lbs as compared to my other ak.  the only thing is the barrel threads for the brake, its reguar ak threads but secured only when tightened, not like the aks traditionl fsb w/pin to secure the brake.
