I had the same issue; I wound up drilling and countersinking another hole in the trunnion where the second hole should be. Also, the stock doesn't drop in; you will probably need to sand it slightly (sides and bottom) and possibly relieve the cutout for the top rear of the receiver to get it to fit. Lastly, when I did get it to slide into the receiver and I inserted the screw, the bottom pulled away and left a gap between the cutout on the stock and the "crescent" of the receiver; not sure if my trunnion was cocked or if the cutout for the trunnion tab was out of kilter. It wasn't horrible and I was tired of messing with it so I left it; YMMV.
EDIT - I built the rifle from a kit Centerfire Systems kit using their Romanian receiver. Not trying to knock Ironwood as I still like the way it turned out. Could just be my build. |
