I found a WASR-10/63 at a local shop for $432.  Seem like a good deal to me.  The one I inspected seem to have excess wears for a “new” gun, is this normal?  But the guy told me he have more in the back.  What do you guy think?

The shop owners story does seem a tad off kilter.

However, it is possible - likely even - that the rifle offered to you as NIB is fresh from the distributor AS A RETURNED (as in REJECTED) ITEM being recycled. Ever wonder what CAI does with all its returns?

I'd definitely steer clear of the worn example, but purchase an unused NIB WASR 10/63 from the back room if I could afford one. Time may be running out on them.

Check for canted sights, et cetera; you know the drill.

The stated price  is not too bad these days.

You are one savvy customer, feller. Good for you.

I'd look at another one from the back.  Be happy with your purchase.  :)

In light of the fact that 10/63s are made by demilling an existing rifle and rebuilding it on a new recever (and since last summer a new barrel) finish wear on moving parts should not surprise anyone. It probably occurred when the rifle was being used by the Romanians.
If there is actual metal wear, I'd pass on the rifle.
