I'm not very up on AK's.  I have an Arsenal in 762 x 39 so this is kind of an extra.
I have a Romanian SAR 1 that I may need to sell.
Can you give me an idea what they are going for?
Thanks!
Like I said, I don't know that much about the SAR's but I did change the furniture to a set I found more appealing.

Boy! That's a good looking rifle!

I really can't help you with pricing other then tell you to check EE and Gunbroker for similar items and see what they are selling for. That would be your guideline but I would also expect you could get a better deal (for you) as nice as that looks.

Good luck.

Generally, they seem to hover around $450-$500 realistically.  But gun shops, etc. seem to price them for about $550-$650 as they need to only find one person with money that likes it to seal the deal in profit.

If you have the original furniture (and cleaning rod), I'd probably put it back on the rifle to sell as complete SAR-1.  The Chinese Type 56 furniture itself is often coveted - especially that smooth-sided pistol grip.  It will sell decently itself.  People that want the furniture generally aren't going to buy it with the rifle.  And folks that want the rifle probably aren't going to buy it for the furniture.

Unfortunately it didn't come to me with a cleaning rod...
See, all I knew is the furniture looks nicer than the original....

the HG's and grip definately look chinese and from the pitch of the butt stock i'd say it is too. i don't remember any id marks to speak of on the set i had. i'd agree on the $450-$500 range on that nice of a rifle , depending on known round count of course.

SAR-1 w/Chicom furniture worth at least $500-$550.

Buy original Romanian furniture for like $20 and sell the chinese furniture for $80-100 (maybe more) separately. Although the Chi wood is pretty, it doesn't look right. on the SAR. People (like me) are dying to find the Chinese wood for their MAK-90s.
