I ve picked up a wasr 2 not to long ago. My question was for everyone since the one i have is a ban rifle the thread protector is tack welded to the barrel right by the bayonet lug. I was wondering does anyone know any gunsmiths that can remove the tack welded thread protector and clean up the threads so that i can have an ak74 muzzle break installed on the barrel. Thanks.

A hand file and about 10 minutes and it's done. The weld very likely never touched the threads. Remember to turn the barrel nut "backwards" to get it off, it is a 14x1 left hand thread.

If you have a Dremel tool with a cut off wheel, it can be done in less than a minute if the hand file method is too much work. My experience indicates that slow and careful works much better in most cases.

No, sorry. I also just remembered that the WASR2 is the 5.45 caliber, and the muzzle threads are 22mm left hand threads.

It doesn't really matter, in either case. Just cut through the weld, and you should be fine. The worst possible scenario is that the threads are missing (turned down or just never threaded, though the latter is highly unlikely) in which case you can still cut threads, attach whatever muzzle device you like (US made would be a real good idea for 922r compliance) and be just fine. The fact that there is a barrel nut on there indicates the likelyhood of there being threads under it.
