What is the better option for an AIMS-74 clone type build today. Start with a CAI Buglarian , Saiga 5.45x39, or Wasr-2 ?

Your best bet is a SAR 2, MK II, CUR II. In my opinion, a WASR2 is not an option, you need dimples for a clone. A Bulgarian rifle (either factory or parts built) is like wise not an option. As already mention, the GB on a Bulgarian is incorrect but thats just the surface. Other parts that are easily noticeable as "incorrect" are:
Rear trunnion Side rail Front sight Trigger guard and mag stop Bolt carrier And so it goes... |
| Thanks for the replies. I'm not so much looking for a clone in the technical since more in fuctionality (wire folder, vertical foregrip, 5.45x39). But I want to start with something that is of good quality and obviously can accept the vertical foregrip and wirefolder. |

I found an early SAR-2 it has both the third Y stamp and the upturned bolt handle. Best part is it has the 22mm FSB & rommy brake installed, also gun coated. All it needs is a wire folder and dong foregrip. Thinking I should jump on this for $550. I little high for SAR-2 but I suspect the early SAR-2s are a little better quality than the later ones.
Opinions? |
