| How do you make ADJ. to a POSP for the PSL rifle Scope? There are 4 screws on the top turret what the hell are they for? BTW Mine shoots about 16" high...... |
|
I would go thru everything else before I opened the 4 screws on top.
this is a long shot.. the psl has a chin weld (not cheek weld). if 16" high and you can not adj down, might have to open but I would test more before you open it up. there were some guides in the archives on this if i remember correctly. can you adjust the shot down at all? |

Yeah, get the guide. Quick reference though, loosen the two silver screws and adjust the scope with the black center screw. When sited in, turn the bezel so that "0" is lined up with the mark on the turret base, then tighten down the two outside screws. I notice on my POSP that the silver cam only has one set of holes so lining it up so that it reads "0" or "1" is impossible on mine. I ended up with 10.5 on the elevation cam and 4 on the windage one because that is where the holes lined up. Am I missing or doing something wrong here? |

Try this, for now. http://dragunov.net/lps_scope.html
There are better instructions out there, I just have to find them...Standby for now. O.K., I looked, the site appears to be down. I may still have the instructions here someplace, that I got before it went down. Back again...try this forum also, the members are always willing to help, as in here. The site is AK specific (and variants) http://www.theakforum.net/phpBB3/ |
| I'm not sure what you mean. There are three screws on top of each turret. two silver and one black in the center. You can zero it by either loosening the silver screws and adjusting with the black center screw.. when finished line the hash mark on the turret base to the zero on the dial (or one for elevation, although i don't think mine has a one on the other side of zero). Or, you can do like that manual suggests and adjust the silver numbered dial after you sight it in. Again, lining the mark on the turret base to the zero on the turret when finished. |

LOL, I am an idiot. I removed the two screws instead of just loosening them. If you remove them you will notice the two holes. I assumed the screws had to go back into said holes so things could never line up. When I tried just loosening the screws I was able to properly adjust it to "1" and "0" and re-tighten w/o moving the reticle. I was over tinkering and over thinking it. Thanks |

Best way to adust these side-mount scopes is to:
1. loosen the side mount lever 2. slide scope and mount to the rear 3. remove from rifle 4. put scope and side mount in "spare parts" box 5. replace with over-the-centerline Picatinny mount from Kalinka Optics 6. put a conventional Western style scope and rings on it |

I like the side mount! To each his own |
