The PSL-54C is NOT a Dragunov! Only the SVD is a Dragunov rifle. It's marketing BS and it needs to stop. Who Cares? If You Ask Me..I'd Take A Romanian PSL Over A SVD Any Day! So Stop Trolling... And now we all know you don't price difference between the two. |

And now we all know you don't price difference between the two. They Shoot With The Same Performance...Same Cartridge...Same Mount...BETTER Reliability...And They Are Under A Grand...So Yes If I Was Going To War And Was Given A PSL, I Would Feel Very Comfortable Shooting At A Target About 800m Away.... |

Would somebody be willing to tell me what the differences are between the two rifles? I honestly don't know. Thanks. The difference between a russian manufactured Kalishnakov and a Century Arms. Century Arms Dont BUILD The Rifles They Just IMPORT Them...(There Are Exception Like The CETME) And The SVD Is Not Of A Kalashnikov Descent.. |

Ine The HARSHEST Environment...The PSL Would Overcome...The SVD Would Not Do So Great Due To The Tight Tolerances... |

Well you can LIKE the PSL more if you want....and you can say you prefer the PSL over the SVD...
But to say it's better is a very large (undeniably false) claim I'd be willing to bet you happen to own a PSL and I doubt you've ever touched an SVD....so I'm going to chalk it up to naivety |

What kind of drugs are you on? Thats My Honest Opinion...If NONE Of You Agree Then Thats Fine...But Ive Delt With Both And I Like The PSL Better... I don't believe that's true. Its True Ive Compared The PSL To A TIGR And I Love The PSL More...But Anyways..All Of This Started From Me Wanting Pictures Of Members PSL's? |

Thank You...Thats Exactly How I Feel...But Instead I Put Lipstick On My Pig! I Did The Stock Red And Polished The Bolt Carrier...Lol |

No "all this" started because you speak from your ass instead of reality. Half the shit coming out of your mouth sounds like a 15 y/o kid who got his degree in weaponology from video games. We all came in here to look at PSLs. And instead we've had to listen to the ramblings of a crack head. |

Well I Never Wanted To Start Any Of This...And As Far As My Opinion Goes...It Still Stands...I Dont Speak From My Ass...I Invite ANYONE To Test My Knowledge On The Kalashnikov Type Rifles... |

In before the lock!
I'd like to see a PSL pic thread too; it won't be this thread now, but I think it's a good idea. All the hostility between PSL and SVD people is just stupid. It's not going to drive down the market price of your SVD if somebody calls their PSL a "Dragunov" or a "sniper rifle." Of course it's not true, but the only possible outcome of calling someone down for it is this: another "my rifle is better than yours thread" it's silly and childish. |

Welcome to Arfcom. Give up now. Just post pics. Or, we can talk about .45 vs 9mm .223 vs .308 or loaded mags vs unloaded mags, or can an airplane on a treadmill take off. |

Thats A Nice Rifle! Did You Refinish The Stock? |

or can an airplane on a treadmill take off. Yes it can, watch the Mythbusters on this very myth, lol. Because the propeller provides the forward thrust and not the wheels the treadmill in essence has 0 effect on the forward progress of the plane. However the wheels will be spinning twice the speed of the actual forward progress. Man I love that show. |

Would somebody be willing to tell me what the differences are between the two rifles? I honestly don't know. Thanks. Not gonna get in the pissing contest but to answer your question. the rifles look very similar but have totally different gas systems and the mags will NOT interchange. They are BOTH DMR rifles and NOT true sniper rifles in the US sense as neither one is minute of angle at 1000 yards. Do they work? Yes, but neither are what one could be considered 'pretty' by most folks. True Dragonov is comperable to the M-21 with a short stroke gas system and the PSL is a long stroke AK system to a simple match grade M-14....almost. Folks get their panties in a wad over semantics with these rifle as folks do when you call a revolver a pistol or a magazine a clip. It is the internet and not life or death folks. |

In addition to TnHawk45's comments,
The PSL has a steroid enhanced stamped ak-ish receiver and clockwork. The SVD receiver is milled and unique, with a slightly more elaborate clockwork which is removed in a different manner. The PSL is lighter. Both fire the same distinctive smelly cheap russian ammo. It must be awful to be exposed to it as it is highly addictive. If one were to reload, these rifles would shoot even better. Thanks for the pics. Dan |
