I have a nice PSL, its a CAI rifle. It came with a LPS4X6` scope. I am looking for a 6 or 8 power, or even a 3X9 variable to get everything I can out of the platform. I would like to find an Eastern block scope that works with the side mount provided with the rifle. My main requirement is that the scope is mounted parallel to the rifle's bore, to avoid the extra complication of adjusting both the X and Y axis with each click. I would prefer a direct system from the side mount, but if a side mount with a rail and then attaching a separate scope is all there is I will make it work.

Over a year ago I was surfing Kalinka  and I found an 8 power that was lined up with the barrel. I checked Kalinka out again yesterday and could find nothing of the sort. Was I missing something? Is there a certain line of scopes like PSOP ( I don't know if the PSOP solves the problem, it's just an example)  that has already solved this problem? I did like the fact that Kalinka had many options for lit reticle scopes, lazer devices, and other fun toys.

I know that the 7.62X54R is a thousand yard round, at the same time I understand that the PSL is at best a DMR. Good for 600 maybe 700 yards. I want to find a scope that would let me get the most out of it. If anyone can sugest a model or even other web sites with more alternatives I would appreciate it very much.

I guess by parallel you mean over the bore. All the POSP's are offset to the left. Kalinka does offer weaver mounted POSP's. You could mount one
to a BP-02/svd or similar side mount and get the desired effect of a genuine POSP mounted over the bore.

POSP 3-9x42 w/ Black Finish, 1000 Meter Rangefinder Rifle Scope, Weaver Version
There is also an 8x42 as well as a weaver mounted 4-12x42

Note that the BP-02/svd comes in different heights. Also some have complained that they are not truly over the bore and can sometime sit a little to the right.

I have done the BP-02/weaver-based 6x42 POSP combo as an experiment on my M72 RPK with the intent of having a POSP that was better (by far) centered over the bore of the rifle. I could have re-worked the BP-02 to get the scope dead centered on the rifle with only a small effort on my part, but this was just an experiment so I didn't pursue it.  While not the ideal set-up, it did work very well. See pic:

How might you have perfectly centered the BP-02?  Would you put spacer shims in the side mount risers to move the Weaver rail farther to the left?

The rail was 1/8" to the right of center in that pic.  So 1/8" shims between the two halves of the BP-02 would have brought it right on center.

I have an SVD plate BP02, low, enroute for the PSL. Burris fullfield II 3-9x40 will be going on top. Some good brass cased pri vi 150gr and off to the range. I hope to print better groups with the improved optic. I've grown to really enjoy this weapon and wouldn't hesitate to hunt big game with it. Hope to go after hogs this fall.

Can anyone give a report on the BP-02 Weaver high mount?  Can you truly see the iron sites with this mount?  Are there any drawbacks with the high mount, or should I get the low mount to get a better "cheek weld" on the standard rear stock when looking through the scope?

Are there any other "centerline"  scope mounts to consider for the PSL?
