| I have a chance to buy a Romanian WASR 10/36 for a reasonable price. Are they accurate and reliable? This one is modified to take double stack mags. |

What Phoenixx is trying to say is that it's actually a WASR 10/63, not a WASR 10/36. The WASRs are dependable and accurate, and function just fine. No need to worry. There are a few things to look for, such as a canted front sight. Also, note that there are other AKs that sell for more due to historic value, or better fit and finish . . . so you need to know what you want and how much you're willing to pay. If you just want an AK that works well, though, the WASR is a good choice. I have one, and love it. |
| I love mine as well. To go along with what mad pic was saying, There are many types to choose from but the WASR may be your best choice price wise, even though that is not saying much with all the hype about Obama, the prices on everything has gone ridiculously high. I think my dad bought my WASR 10/63 a few years ago and he got his for about $250!!!!! Now you are luck to find anything for less than 500-600 bucks, at least those are the prices I have been seeing at the IN gun shows lately. Is that about right guys? But anyway the WASR's are maybe not the most AMAZING AK variant, but they work! |

Snag it up.
With a hammer, 1/8'' steel punch, and some manly effort it can be fixed in about 5-10 minutes. That said, unless it is dramatic, the rifle still might shoot just fine if you don't feel like messing with it so I'd take it to the range first. Mine is canted slightly just a tad to the right but after one adjustment to the front sight post it is literally dead on. |

The one for sale has a canted front sight, but he only wants $500 for it with 8 mags. I hope your going to buy it! I got mine brand new-with a slight cant in the fsb - for $489 and only one mag. That's a great deal! edit: if you have access to some pics post them up. We're curious to see |

I paid 425 for mine new in box with canted front sight (slight, but canted). Two magazines, sling, cleaning kit and oil bottle included.
I think it's crazy to see how much they are now when even two months ago I picked mine up for cheaper. Of course I also bought a K31 about a year ago for 150 with two boxes of softpoint 7.5Swiss. Now they are all like 300 bucks for ones in worse condition. |
| I was set to buy the rifle and the owner e mailed me that he sold it back to his boss the man who sold it to him. He said he would hold it for me until I got there with the money, but he didn't. Apparently his boss had the first right of refusal. He probably found out how much they are going for now. I'm not completely AKless though. I bought two Russian Saigas one in .223 and one in .308. They are like an AK 47 with an extra teeter totter linkage between the trigger and the hook/disconnector. They also have a sporter stock. A pistol grip conversion with an AK fire control group can change that. I was liking the idea of having 8 clips, but we have a gun show around here 3 weeks out of each month. I know what to jump on now. Nice Aks go for about $800 here. I've learned a lot from your feedback. Thanks. |

and also suggest checking for canted front sight base and mag wobble.
