The mags that came with my PSL were just magazines, nuthin out of the ordinary there.
The extra mags I bough elsewere have serial numbers. any one else seen this? |
| The significance of those serial #'s is overrated. I had to refinish the magazine that came with my rifle due to rust. After sandblasting I found it had two serial #'s, one superimposed over the other. My guess is that they are re-serialized when refurbished for sale with the import-legal receiver. |

That is interesting I wonder how many others were restamped. I agree though about serial numbering magazines being overrated. It may have made life easier/interesting for the Romanian military but as far as shooting goes I think it's more important to have a well made fully functional magazine. Some collectors are anal retentive enough to track down all four original issue magazines for their individual rifle and I suppose there's nothing wrong with that but so long as my mags fit and function in my rifle I'm happy. |

The Romanians serial numbered the magazines to the rifle. All my mags are numbered and I think there is a registry where you can go to try and find the original magazines for your PSL. Cool ! Where can I find this registry? Go to GunBoards.com. There is a sniper rifle forum which has a sticky at the top entitled, "does someone else have your magazines." It took me a good bit of back tracking to find it because I never bookmarked it before. I thought there was a bigger registry than what is presented here but I can't find one. Guess smoking all that crack has finally caught up with me-lol. |
