Showed up last night at my FFL. It's better than I expected. Sight appears to be centered and the guts were clean. Lots of cosmo in there, but some DeepKreep and elbow grease later and it's clean and ready to go to the range.

Range report is GOOD! She cycles fine and only had two Fail to Feeds. Both cases were some old Hollow point 7.62 a buddy gave me.
Both mags that came with it fit snug and have minimal wobble. Both cycle fine. It was actually more accurate than expected. The length of pull is odd sinse I'm used to a AR, but I'll get used to it or get a NATO stock. I'm a happy man

I'm a happy man Hmmm, couple fails to feed...that might work itself out once you run a few more mags through it. I've never had problems with HPs in mine. I've heard SPs can cause some problems, and a few people get some hang ups with HPs as well. If it's a continued problem you might look into it further. Do new Wolf HPs jam it up too? Anyway, glad you like it! Welcome to the dark side.

Alright. So I spent about 20min last night and about he same today polishing up the carrier. I see why they painted it, the metal is less that perfect. I haven't put a good polish on it yet, I'm still thinking I can smooth it out a little more.

In case I get super anal about this, anyone recommend a place to pick up a stainless carrier? If it turns out I don't are for it, I'll hit it with some AlumahydeII and be done with it. |
Sorry to go Off Topic, but why the different material for the upper/lower hand guards on the same model of rifle. Do they throw whatever they have laying around on them? I picked one up at the gunshow Saturday afternoon and my hand guard wood seems to be a nice quality wood. I noticed that the two other rifles that he had (WASR-10 not the WASR-10/63) have laminate furniture all around.
