[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Help a newbie out

My father in law just ordered a Romanian AK74 WASR2. Now me being the family armorer I need a crash course in this rifle. It's my understanding that this rifle is converted to a hi cap? Anybody have any input on these rifle's problem's if any? Anything I should watch out for? I have some limited experiance with AK variant's but not much. Any help would be appriciated.

One other piece of advice I'd give to you is to go to AIM's and stock up on cheap military surplus 5.45 ammo while its still available

Thank you for the help I poked around a bit lot's of good info to be found. Most people have had good luck it seem's with these rifle's. When it arrive's I'll be sure to give it a good workout. Curious to see how it stack's up against our AR's.

You may have found this, but if not, some WASR rifles have side-to-side "mag wobbe." If your father-in-law's rifle has this wobble, some people have had success with this "fix": www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.php?t=290399&highlight=WASR+dimples
