| I am new to the AK game and just bought a WASR 10. When going through different sites and forums I have read alot of people talking down on the WASRs. Why is that? I put around 150 rounds through mine so far(only had it for a week) and so far it has been awesome. |
He means the topic. There are 100 or more "why do y'all hate WASRs?" threads, and they all start off nicely and turn into "my Arsenal woopdeedoo is better than your WASR blahblahblah" in no time. Then someone says, "you are just mad you paid 2-3x as much when mine does the same thing." It goes downhill fast. You can search for WASR and turn up a lot of the threads. IBTWH (in before the WASR-haters) Bottom line (as I see it): WASRs are sometimes good. WASRs are sometimes junk (bent parts, canted gas blocks and sights, crappy finishes, etc.). Look it over, see if it looks good, and put down your dollars. I have a WASR, and it works great. I have seen a few that didn't work at all or didn't work great. No way would I buy a used one unless I got to shoot it first. Too many people get one with problems and come on here to say "should I just pawn it, or should I send it back to Century for repair?" All of those pawned ones are floating around... A new one can be sent back to Century for repair, so all you are out is extra time.ETA: Welcome to the forum, by the way!
