What 223/.556 mags will a WASR-3 take?  Thanks in advance!

Cool.  What about Bulgy polymer?

While Weigers give best performance, Bulgys can depend on the individual rifle. They may or may not work 100%. I would just buy one Bulgy and see how it goes with your rifle and adjust from there.

Most of the WASR and SAR guns won't accept the use the Bulgarians  5.56 mags (they usually won't fit), and often those mags won't function 100% even if they do somehow fit.

Your most likely to get better results in using Bulgarian 5.45 / AK-74 mags and retro fit them to use the Robinson Arms followers.  These work pretty well in my experience, but due to the difference in cartridge taper, I usually load only 20 or 25 instead of 30.

I'd look first and foremost for the right mags (ones gun designed to use - the metal Weigners) first and foremost.

My latest AK, a 2000 series Sar-3 came with one bulgarian waffle mag, seems to fit OK, wont know till it gets over 50 degrees here in Indiana, if it works or not, but I know 74 mags with Robarm followers, and especially the Weigers work great.

I have an SAR3 that came with an E. German orange bakelite, with the sticker that said ".223 only". I switched the follower with Rob Arms .223, and it runs great with 30 rds. I bought 10 more of these and the correct followers. I did have to shave the backs of the mags, just behind the feed lips, to clear the center post in the receiver. They all are 100%, and half the cost of Weigers. I do have 6 Weigers in wrappers, just because they are the correct mag, but only use the bakelites. The bakelites are getting as hard to find as the Weigers. AIM surplus used to have them for $12, but are long gone. Bulgy 5.45's are still pretty cheap.

Mine came with a steel mag but i order some 30 round bulgys to test out. They didnt fit at first but a little work with the file and they lock up nice and tight. They seem to lock in just as hight as the steel one does so we'll see.

I bought two Bulgarian and two East German AK-74 magazines and did the "homebrew" follower modification found here: forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=9148.  For the WASR, you only need to follow the instruction on the follower.  I took all four mags out (with the weiger mag that came OEM) and the OEM and three of the homebrews worked great.  I still need to solve a problem with the fourth homebrew.  I also ordered four "WASR-3" magazines direct from Century, but I have not received them yet.
