| How much is a NIB early 90's MAK-90 worth? |
Actually, retail on those was about $189 in the early 90s. As soon as they were banned from import, the price jumped immediately to $250 and has gone up since then. Fast forward to today, I will take any MAK-90 for $350 over a comparably priced Romanian WASR-10. |

I have noticed they have increased in value since AWB expired. I think a lot of people didn't realize the 89 ban still applied and they were waiting for evil feature Polytechs to show up again. When they didnt, people preferred a MAK90 to a WASR. The cheapest I ever saw them preban was $135 as the large Houston show in 1993. They spiked to $500+ after the ban was first enacted and then settled down to $350 or so. Recent ones I see all for for $400+ and this is in Arizona where guns are aplenty... |

I see Maks all the time in the $400 range and most of these have some kind of cosmetic issue. Just payed $499 for a like new with perfect original bluing and was glad to find it (I'm talking square cut). Maks usually have some kind of cosmetic issue i.e; thin bluing, blotchy bluing, rust. Believe it or not I have purchased 3 NIB, in bag, examples off the internet in the past year and ended up selling them locally because the finishes were all screwed up. BD1 |
I agree. Most that I've seen in the $350 -400 range have surface rust, canted front sights, or some other issue. Not to say that there are better deals out there, but I was happy to pay $450 for a pristine straight cut one. |
Not an issue for me. I was able to open up the thumbhole stock on one of my MAK90s, I custom fit it to my hand and not only do I NOT feel the need to replace the stock, I am able to retain the superior ChiCom trigger. $400+/- is a good deal on an excellent AK. . |
