I'm looking at buying a used MAK90, I seem to hear nothing but good things about them from current owners. Question I have, is there anything special one needs to do on these to add a regular AK pistol grip & buttstock, in place of the one piece "sporter" stock. It's at a web dealer so not like I have access to the receiver to see if its any different from other AK's. Thanks---

Ask him if he'll remove the buttstock to see what cut is on the receiver. The receiver are 1.6mm so this limits what buttstock you can put on. You can use a european set,
but you'll need the sand the buttstock to fit & the the lower also, the rear site block is thicker. If you use american wood you'll need to change 2 parts to be compliant with 922r. Ironwooddesigns.com make us set for the mak's. even if it is a slant cut receiver.

He doesn't have to remove the stock, he could just pull the top cover and look.....if he knows what he's looking for, much easier and more likely he'll do it that way.

You can also look in for sale forums. Chinese stock sets are still around. Chinese triggers are the best around. Compliance parts include mag plates.
