Just got back from the local gun show where I picked up a Norinco MAK 90. It is in very good condition. The only bad thing is the bayo lug has been shaved off. The muzzle had a screw off muzzle cap, and all looks good there.

I picked up a made in USA slant brake while I was at the show, but it does not line up correctly when screwed on. It stops at a slight angle when the pin is engaged.

Anyway, I got this rifle for $300, and feel like I got a pretty good deal. The wood looks very good, and the rifle seems much nicer than the higher priced WASR's I saw there.

Any suggestions on the brake? IS there a particular one I need to look for that will line up correctly. I'm pretty new to AK's in general, and especially the Chinese ones. Any help would be appreciated.

slant brakes are designed to point to the right (as viewed from a firing position).

Like kami211 said, the brake is supposed to slant to the right, that is why they call it a slant brake.

Thanks guys. I thought the slant meant the cut of the brake itself.

Like they said /\/\/\/\ it is normal for it to look like it is off kilter.   A bit funny looking, but normal!

id recommend buying a couple spring loaded firing pins, they are what will go first ans are hard to come by
