Picked it up at a gunshow for $343, used. It was from a guy who buys confiscated weapons from the police. Had some minor rust on the tang and the pistol grip bolt which I cleaned up right away. Seems to be in excellent over all shape. Now I am looking to convert it to a US parts AK. I need four parts, or five if I want a muzzle brake.

Has anybody done this before? I'm looking for sources and useful info.

Hey Da,
Not prob! you have come to the right place! The only thing that might present a problem, is the receiver. On the lower back portion is it cut at an angle?
You need to get a set of American made FCG, and we need to locate you some stock parts.

LMK know on the receiver!

Is there such a thing as a square cut milled receiver MAK-90?  Every milled gun I've seen (including mine) has the angle cut.

David,
I was just makinmg sure it was milled. We have many new people think they have a milled gun, when in fact its stamped. This will make you sick! the milled guns were going to be folders!
edit
go to www.ironwooddesigns.com and see which receiver you have. They will also have a stock to fit yours.

You probably have the second nicest AK in WA :) Oh wait, I saw someone else's down in Chehalis. An Arsenal. It's pretty nice. You might have to settle with third best ;)

RotDorn, he has the milled one listed on that one diagram (Global Trades?) as type 3.

IWD just fired up the AK side again and are currently taking orders. I have the slant cut round hole milled AK and just ordered my set in maple for 95 bucks. He is the only one who makes these. Matt is a great guy and even took the time to figure a way to get me a shorter stock.

Bunnys is indeed a milled. I fondled it minutes before he bought it. Like he said, 343.00 out the door. What a steal.

Bunny, that may have been the deal f the show as far as Im concerned. I did NOT wanna spend the cash for it since I already have one, but damn it was indeed tempting!

what do u guys mean by angle receiver? single angle or double angle? i have a milled Mak91 with 21inch heavy barrel. i order an ACE skeleton stock and receiver block adapter...it did not fit. i had to use a hack saw and cut the "double angle" to single angle...aka..Type 2 russian receiver.  my receiver is not listed in ironwood's website.

hope this helps.
