I am looking to find more stuff for my polytech collection. I was in kindergarten when the polytech ak's hit the shelf so I am unaware of any possible accessories that were sold at the time. Maybe you guys can help out. I am searching for the polytech drum "made in china by poly" but would like to learn more about what was out there at the time.

As far as I'm concerned, they didn't have alot of extras to offer before the 89' ban happened. There is a side mount scope kit, which I believe is still sold (came on the Polytech Legend National Match, I believe), a top rail which attached to the rear trunnion rivets and rear sight block, bolt on folding bipod and the drum. I have the top rail (solid and heavy) and drum.
The 75rd "made in china by poly" drum I think its really cool compared to the other Chinese drums. The winding key is unique and spring loaded, there is no alignment plate, the bullet guides are inverted and it is not cut in the rear for the bolt hold open feature of the Type 81 MG. |

To answer the OP's question, that drum will be tough to find, you could try posting a WTB add on sturmgewehr or some of the other AK gun boards. Either that or search gunbroker every day until you run across one. |

OP it would be more helpful to know what exactly you're looking for....Polytech offered very few specific accessories for the rifles except what came in the box with the rifles originally, green plastic oil bottle, canvas sling with single leather tab, gas port scraper tool, 3 30 rd. mags with chrome followers, buttstock cleaning kit, bayonet.. That should about round out the accessories that originally came with the rifle.
There are plenty of accessories that were Chinese made to go with the rifles such as 5 mag shoulder bags, 6 mag chest rigs (kinda rare), 3 mag chest rigs, 75rd drum pouches and drums along with a 100rd version drum. Norinco even marketed a CLP type oil for the Chinese rifles. Just depends on how far you want to go with your collection. |
