I now haz one. previous owner thought it was a MAK, didn't really want it, nice guy so I did a good trade for it.

1) tiny bit of rust here and there=check
2) hasn't been cleaned, dirty as hell=check
3) early model, crappy CSI engraving, "56S" stamped over with an X=check

had.to.have.her.

After almost a quarter century, i'm gonna put her back to the way she was meant to be.

Your'e right, here it is in all it's ban-era glory, complete with butthole stock, muzzle condom, and 10 round chicom mag with the long 5 rd. follower The characters that have been struck out, at the top "56S" and at the bottom it's "SILE NY NY", guess that was the old importer, and when this one was stuck in customs the CSI people either took it over or did the banning and thus were considered the importer, still not altogether clear on how all that nonsense  worked out, stupid feds and their kiddie games ya know.

That's too bad they had to ruin a perfectly good Sile Import.

Excellent pick up!  I actually prefer the NHM over the MAK simple because they already have factory threaded muzzles and straight cut receivers whereas the MAK already had it's thread grounded and there is a 50/50 chance the receiver is angle cut.  Here is mine(NHM) that I de-banned.  I'm actually in the process of replacing the neutered gas block with one that has its bayonet lug intact.

Next to it's kin waiting for de-banning surgery, the MAK.
