Yesterday I picked up a used Polytech AKS 762 with the factory 416 PW85 markings. I can only assume that the under folding stock had been installed at some time after importation since it is marked "PW"? We're there any imported with the underfolder with the PW markings? It came with 2-Poly 30rnd, 1-Poly 5rnd, 1-20rnd & one Chinese 75rnd drum.
I have several Norinco SKS's, MAK90's & a BWK92 that I picked up in the early 90's but I' not that familiar with the Polytech's.

Thanks for any input on this.

Anything is possible from Norinco and Polytech.  I tend to not use that prefix codes as gospel because they would make anything.

Here's a pic, I should've done this when I started the thread...

Juding by that photo, it could've been an after-purchase installation.

That rifle has some additional modifications such as the handguards, pistol grip, and top cover.  Wonder if the previous owner switched out the rear sight leaf to give it a "Russian/European AK" look, as well.

Ya, I thought the same thing. The ribbed top cover, plum upper HG & pistol grip. The front sling mount has been removed and replaced with a sling mount that is part of the front of the lower HG retainer. I have some Chinese wood that I was thinking about putting on it if I can find it. But for what I paid for it espically in today's market with the mags & drum, I think I got a good deal. I'll have no buyers remorse on this one.

As mentioned dont take those markings listed on other websites as gospel. I have a very early import Polytech 416 double underfolder that has the early thin grip and its NIB. It's not marked PF, its marked with an "H". I purchased it from the original owner. It also came with standard flat back magazines and not the later POLY marked mags. Anything is possible with the Chicoms.
