I have an AK-47 made by Norinco chambered in 7.62X39. It is pre-ban and came with a threaded muzzle and a slant muzzle break. I found two AK flash suppressors in a pawn shop the other day. They are left hand thread just like my slant break, but the threads are wrong and they will not screw onto my AK. I would really like to know what threads my AK has and what other treads are used on AK's. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

AKs have 14x1mm left hand threads.  There are a lot of different options for muzzle devices in this thread pattern, from many different sources, as this is just the standard AK thread.  If yours is a preban rifle this is what it shoud be and you will have no trouble finding the MD of your choice.  AIM has an inexpensive FH in 14x1,  CNC Warrior has many different options, as well as many other places.

Over the years ban era guns have been debanned and different threads have been cut into unthreaded barrels, depending on the size of the muzzle and who was doing the work.

Some ban era guns had the original threads ground off to make them legal for import, so that the muzzle diameter was smaller than original and usually around 0.500".  These were too small for 14x1mm but just right for the standard AR 1/2" threads.

I've also heard of people cutting both left hand and right hand threads in various sizes, I guess, due to availability or cost of the dies.

Believe it or not, occasionally you'll find a 14mm LH muzzle device that just won't screw onto a 14mm LH threaded AK muzzle.  It is (fortunately) not very common, but sometimes a muzzle device will just be too tight to fit onto that particular AK's threaded muzzle.
