| I have a MAK I want to deban. I have a new spike fsb. I was wondering if it requires any preparation to the barrel? Other than taking off the old fsb. |
|
I did one a few months ago and 2 more this week. One of my MAK's was a 1994 model and the bayo fsb fit perfectly. I then purchased 2 NOS barrels from Keng's and the area just behind the fsb had to be turned down a little as it was thicker than the ID of the bayo fsb. YMMV. Good luck.

I had to do a little fitting on the barrel. I put a small fuel line hose clamp around the barrel as a guide and had to file just a small amount of the turning marks to slide it on snug about an inch back from the old FSB. I cleaned it up with emery cloth and re-blued the area before sliding the FSB on and re-drilled the virgin pin holes. I turned the clamp also while fitting to keep even where the clamp screw was in the way. Came out SWEET!
Make sure the notch for the pins line up before drilling and it should work out for you. Keep it straight! |

Do you have any measurements for the barrel and FSB? And where does everyone get the spike FSBs? Spooky |

Spooky Sorry I did not keep the measurements and I would have to press off the fsb to get the ID of fsb. The spike fsb's can be found on gunbroker from time to time. Good luck. |

If you don't get in a bidding war they can be had with FSB, bayo and pins for 200. I was able to pick up a spike bayo off GB this last week for 60 shipped. So I am still staying in the 200 dollar range. |
