Well, I recently debated and with AK prices soring, I think it's best just to rebuild off my old MAK90.  Recently (due to my stupidity), the firearm was misproperly stored, and well... unfortunatly rusted up, I do think it's just surface rust, but I don't know for sure.  It's located all over the bolt carrier unfortunatly, as well as all over the rifle.  The rifle was almost scoped, due to the scope rail being misproperly removed, the trigger group needs to be completly replaced.  I was wondering what you guys think I should do, I was thinking just buying all the material, such as trigger groups and what not, and installing them myself.  My question though is, will any trigger group, bolt carrier, and other AK mechanisms work in the MAK90?  I'm just curious if different country oriented parts will work in a chinese AK.

If you have the skills and the tools to "un-ban" the rifle, I would do that and then refinish it.
