[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Bayonet for Polytech Question

I have a milled Polytech AK-47 ( Not AKM) My East German( I think. Black bakelite) Type 1 Bayonet doesn't fit. the handle is too long on the bayonet. Are the Polytech Type 1 bayonets a different size? Will only a Chinese Type 1 bayonet fit? I thought they were all the same.

Now I see that the gas block is too big for the bayonet or the bayonet is too small for the gas block.

Do I need a polytech bayonet?

If you have what has become a treasured Kalashnikov variant such as a milled Polytech rifle, you ought to get the right Polytech/Chinese bayonet for it. Used to be fairly common to find but they've become much harder to run across.
