Does the muzzle have any actual threads?  If not, you will need to thread it or use a pin on brake.

yes it has threads it is just bigger in diameter than the suppressor I keep ordering. If you order one for a AK-47.

It shouldn't be. A MAK-91 would have the thickest diameter barrel. Many MAK-90s had their threads milled off (which were the common 14x1LH thread size).  Others had the threads covered with a sleeve, which may be tack welded on.  The sleeve could be removed to expose the 14x1LH threads.  If your threads were milled off, someone may have threaded the muzzle at an odd thread pitch but often they threaded them with the thread pitch used in AR15 flash hiders.

Sure your threads aren't one of those two thread pitches?  If they are, possibly they need to be chased.

Got any pictures of the actual rifle?

Info on the postban Chinese rifles can be found at this link.

Many of the Chinese AK's had barrels with very obvious "lathe marks" which look a lot like "threads" to some people.  It sounds like you have one of the lathe-marked barrels, which is actually a non-threaded barrel.  This would explain the appearance of threads and the larger diameter.  That being the case, you would need to thread your barrel in order to use standard AK muzzle devices (14mm LH thread).

You don't have a threaded barrel by the sound of it.  Treads would appear as they do on a carriage bolt etc.  You can definately tell a threaded barrel and it would only be up to the FSB
